House of Refuge Corsicana

We are proud to announce that the 4th week $1,000.00 donation will go to the House of Refuge in Corsicana, Texas. This is one of three programs that Compassion Corsicana provides to the community.

Compassion Corsicana is a faith-based nonprofit organization that serves Corsicana and Navarro County. They are completely funded by local grants, trusts, and donations from churches, businesses, and individuals.

The Mission of Compassion Corsicana is to be the hands and feet of Jesus by serving neighbors in need of temporary relief, long-term restoration, and ongoing encouragement. Their goal is to help those facing financial hardships by providing temporary financial relief, food, and transitional housing for women and their children.

Compassion Corsicana has three agencies that work together to assist those living in poverty in meeting their needs. They are as follows:

• Family Service Association

• Navarro County Food Pantry

• House of Refuge

The House of Refuge was destroyed by fire, and it needs assistance with the rebuilding of the facilities. We are honored to be a part of the rebuilding. This facility provides temporary housing for women and children who are experiencing displacement. Women who reside at the House have three months to work toward self-sufficiency. While staying there, women must fulfill community service hours, join local programs, look for jobs, apply for housing, and pursue personal goals to achieve self-sufficiency.
