Julie Bell

Julie began her banking journey at First State Bank in December 1994 at the Tyler Street Branch and after five years, she moved to the main downtown Athens location. Throughout her career, she has held various positions within the bank, including Teller, Wire Department staff, Call Center Supervisor, Credit Department member, and New Accounts Representative.  Additionally, she played a key role in the opening of the Gun Barrel City Branch. In March of 2025, Julie was promoted to her current position as Assistant Vice President, Retail Office Manager of the downtown Athens branch.

Julie was born in Paris, Texas, and grew up in Northeast Texas.  She graduated from Palestine High School in 1983 and furthered her education by obtaining an associate’s degree from Trinity Valley Community College.  In her leisure time, she loves camping, painting, and cherishing moments with family and friends.  Julie has been happily married to her husband Scott for 34 years, and they are proud parents of two sons, a daughter, and six grandchildren.
